Filipinos are known for the traits and characteristics that we have. We show highly respect to our elders by saying po and opo and putting our elder's hand on our forehead or mano as what we call them and the tender love and care we give to our friends and family. Some people from the other country put their elders at the home for the aged but we take care of them no matter what happen because that’s how much we love them and how strong our bond is with each other. Being hospitable is also one of the most known to the Filipinos. Every time a visitor enters our house, we immediately offer them something to drink or if they’re hungry even if they refuse to accept it, we still insist to give them because it’s rude for us not to offer them something since they’re our visitor. You don’t need to worry on knowing a stranger’s name because we call them ate or kuya. We even call our nonrelatives tito or tita.

Sometimes, we do some unusual things that only Filipinos do. Like whenever we eat in a fast food restaurant, in our house, we eat with our one leg bent and most of the time we eat using just our hands because it makes eating more enjoyable. We have a habit of using our lips to point things which is funny to look at. “Boodle fight” is a feast wherein the food are just served in a banana leaves and everyone just dig right in and stuff their mouth and we enjoy this kind of stuff. Speaking of food, whenever throw a party, we give our guests a take-home food because that’s how generous a Filipino is.

                We should be proud calling ourselves a Filipino because every Filipino has unique characteristics that only we Filipinos understand. We get to be ourselves, we can still have fun even though we are going through a rough days. We can still manage to smile and just laugh at our problems because that’s what makes a Filipino a Filipino.
